Quick draw Quinn

Quick draw Quinn is a final assignment for a compositing class I participated in.

A bit of movie magic!

The objective of the assignment was to create something using at least 3 major compositing techniques we had learned earlier in the class. I decided to film myself quick drawing in a classic western duel. Although my time in Nuke is quite limited I am very happy with the final product. Its not every day you get to go out a film something like this for school.

A little particular

These above videos are my work from my time at Humber. The class was particle Fx and simulation which was all done using Houdini. While the Fx is mine the models used in the second and third were downloaded for the class. Id love to have some more time with particles and simulation perhaps using my models or in future personal projects.

Avast Land Ho!

The objective of this compositing assignment was to find a 3D asset import it into a render engine then render out several passes then comp them together. One of the main things our professor was looking for was a proper feel for the scene. Does it make sense? Do they edits help or hinder the story? To do so we had to find a scene or image from a movie that invoked that theme and render a scene off of that.

For my scene I chose the final scene in the Goonies. The visual of a pirate ship in a cave always seemed really interesting to me, almost magical and I like to think my work was successful in conveying that.

Shields Up!

This piece is a shield i made for an art Metal works class. We were given free reign of what we could make and I thought, “what is something that i could make out of metal that would be cool”. The whole process was incredibly fun but also challenging as almost all the work was done with hand tools. I even got to hammer out some rivets on an anvil!

Some stuff around the house

These are some simple still life drawings I did in a beginners drawing class. This class was the first step on my current career path.
